Arlington Jazz Festival – Day 7: Adventure Time, the Ally Project, and Open Jam
8:00PM, Saturday, April 5 Donut Villa Back Room, 319 Broadway This is a FREE event - donations are accepted 8:00PM – Brooke Sofferman's Adventure Time is an energetic, modern jazz trio, drawing from Sofferman's extensive original material, and some reimagined jazz standards. Their interplay is often akin to extra-sensory perception, each finishing each other's thoughts and ideas. The fact that they are good friends off the bandstand is also apparent, and lends itself to exciting and sometimes ethereal musical communication. featuring: Rick Stone – alto saxophone Nate Radley – guitar Sean Farias – bass Brooke Sofferman – drums/compositions 9:15PM – The Ally Project features pianist Jonathan Fagan and former poet-laureate Terry Carter at the intersection of jazz and social justice. Fagan’s dynamic compositions underscore Carter’s thought-provoking words in an interdisciplinary collaboration around themes of culture, race, and local history. musical improvisation along with Carter’s vibrant delivery of each text.
